Abstract

Employee innovative capability in the public sector has become a growing concerned. Although considerable efforts have been made to enhance innovation levels among employees, the results remain unsatisfactory. Effective leadership is therefore critical in managing the implications of innovation by fostering employee readiness and facilitating a structured approach to navigating change. The study involved 290 civil servants employed in the Malaysian public sector. The findings confirmed the moderating effect of employee readiness on the relationship between dimensions of Islamic leadership behavior and innovation capability. The implications of the study are discussed in detail in this paper.
